Terri Lynn Land and I have been traveling the state since our ticket was announced on Wednesday and we’re are so grateful for the support and encouragement we’ve received. After kicking off our Fix Lansing and Get Michigan Back to Work tour in Detroit , we’ve traveled over 1100 miles and talked to hundreds of Michiganders who want to see real leadership in Lansing . If you’ve been following me on facebook or twitter, you also know we’ve stopped for our share of ice cream along the way, too!
In all regions of the state, Michiganders are desperate for change. Folks know that without a drastic change in the way Lansing operates, our state will continue to be a difficult place to make a living, run a business or raise a family.
Announcing my ticket this early is unconventional. It’s more important than ever that our next Governor is ready to lead on Day One. Michigan can’t afford the luxury of waiting for our next governor to adjust to a learning curve. We need help now.
Terri brings a lot of experience to our team. She knows better than anyone in state government how to increase transparency, reduce costs, cut spending and still deliver stellar customer service to Michigan citizens. She’s a tireless public servant and a true road warrior!
It will take the knowledge, experience and backbone to turn things around—there are no quick fixes or easy solutions. It took a long time for us to get here and the turnaround won’t happen overnight. Tough choices need to be made—just like the tough choices we have to make at home every day in these lean economic times. With our leadership at the Capitol, our government will be run the same way.
We can fix Lansing and get Michigan back to work but that’s only half the battle. Your support is key, and more importantly your hard work, to making a difference.
