Bouchard wins support from Macomb leaders
Oakland County- Mike Bouchard, Republican candidate for governor, today announced the support of leading Macomb County Republicans, who each praised Bouchard as a strong leader with the experience necessary to fix Lansing.
Endorsing Bouchard are state Sen. Alan Sanborn, state Rep. Kim Meltzer, county commissioners Keith Rengert, Kathy Vosburg, former legislator Dan Acciavatti, Republican 10th Congressional District Vice-Chair Marianne Weiss, and Republican 12th Congressional District State Committee member Dan Tollis.
“Macomb residents appreciate a leader who shows backbone, and they have that in Mike Bouchard,” Sanborn said. “He has the experience and solid track record of fiscal discipline that will be needed to reform state government and again make Michigan a national leader in job creation.”
“Mike Bouchard’s strength and leadership are exactly what our state needs right now,” Meltzer said. “He will focus on what’s right for Michigan instead of just focusing on the next election.”
“I’m honored to receive the support of these tireless advocates for Macomb County,” Bouchard said. “With these leaders on my team, we will fix Lansing and get Michigan back to work.”
Support from the Macomb County officials is the latest in a lengthening list of endorsements Bouchard has received. Other members of the Bouchard team include a number of Kent and Oakland county lawmakers and local officials, former North Carolina Sen. Elizabeth Dole, former Lt. Gov. Connie Binsfeld, former first lady Michelle Engler, former Michigan Republican Party co-chair Jane Abraham and Bishop Ira Combs. Bouchard’s campaign is chaired by Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson.
