Mike Bouchard tells ‘big government’ to keep
its hands out of hard-working taxpayers’ pockets
Mike Bouchard, Republican candidate for governor, today expressed concern over big government’s growing intrusion into the lives and pocketbooks of taxpayers.
Bouchard shared his comments in the wake of U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
“Enough is enough,” said Bouchard, who has earned the reputation as a fiscally conservative leader. “Government at all levels needs to focus on doing its basic job rather than finding creative ways to run people’s lives. We’re seeing especially disturbing examples of government overreach at the federal level. Under the rule of Speaker Pelosi, there is a dramatic increase in attempts to get more money from taxpayers, which is increasing the debt for our children and grandchildren. We need to end big government’s power grab and curb its insatiable thirst for more of our hard-earned tax dollars in order protect the individual freedoms that make our country so great.”
Bouchard added that his criticisms are not partisan.
“I don’t care if it’s a Republican or Democrat that’s taking money out of your pocket,” he said. “Your pocketbook doesn’t know the difference. The best way to get Lansing’s and Washington’s houses in order is to hear the common-sense voice of taxpayers.”
