Bouchard releases his latest commercial, “It’s Time”
“Our Kids Shouldn’t Be Our Biggest Export”
Oakland County – Mike Bouchard, Republican candidate for governor, is set to release his next television commercial titled, “It’s Time” after an impressive campaign finance report filing revealing he has $846,000 in his war chest and internal polling showing him in a first place position in the race.
“Now is the time to fix Lansing and get Michigan back to work,” said Bouchard. “As governor, it’ll be my job to create an environment which fosters job creation and prosperity. I am running for governor for one reason. I want our children to find work here in Michigan and not have to chase opportunity to other states. If our children choose to leave our state for a job, it is their choice, but if they are forced to leave to find opportunity then leadership has failed them. I love being Sheriff of Oakland County, but I love my kids more. Our children deserve an opportunity to work in Michigan and I will fight to create opportunity in Michigan.”
Bouchard added, “Michigan’s next governor will need to know what to do, how to do it and have the willingness to do it. I’m the only candidate in the race who has been a leader in the legislature when it worked, owned a small business and I have been the CEO of a large government agency. I’m ready and willing to take on the tough challenges and make the difficult decisions to turn our state around even if it means I am a one-term governor. This election is about the next generation, not the next election.”
Bouchard is regarded as a top contender in Michigan’s Republican primary race for Governor and tied for first place with Congressman Hoekstra at 19%, according to internal polling with a majority of voters undecided.

Mike Bouchard: We used to worry about our daughter dating.
Now, we worry if she’ll find a job here.
Getting Michigan back to work won’t be easy, but I’m used to tough challenges.
In the state Senate, we cut taxes and balanced the budget when people said we couldn’t.
And as Sheriff, I reduced my budget by $20 million without sacrificing safety.
Michigan needs jobs.
For this generation, and the next.
Our children shouldn’t be our greatest export.
And I’ll do whatever it takes to keep them here.

Mike,
My husband and I are behind you 100%. Sadly, both my children, now 21 and 23 have had to move out of state for jobs and I find myself in the nightmare I never wanted, the fact that I will rarely see grandchildren when they come. I always envisioned my family staying together. My husband worked at the Wixom Ford Plant and has been out of a job since 2006. I recently lost my job as well. Numerous unsuccessful tries to sell our house has left us with high taxes and bills that are getting hard for us to keep up with. We realize you are the only one who gets it! We are telling everyone we know that for the good of MI, vote Mike Bouchard.
