Bouchard: “Federal Judge Bolton is wrong!”
Oakland County – Mike Bouchard, Republican candidate for governor, today released the following statement in reaction to the federal judge blocking parts of Arizona’s illegal immigration law.
“Judge Bolton should either stop blocking law enforcement from doing their job or order the federal government to do theirs,” said Bouchard. “The federal government refuses to secure our borders and now they are punishing Arizona for protecting themselves from illegal immigration. People who are here illegally but working are not only taking jobs in a time when opportunities are scarce, but they must commit identity theft to be employed, which is another violation of the law. This judge just gave illegal immigrants amnesty by impeding the local police from doing their job.”
Bouchard was the first to stand with Arizona in April applauding them for using their states rights. Since Bouchard has been a strong advocate urging the Obama administration to end the lawsuit. Just this week Sheriff Joe Arpaio endorsed Mike Bouchard for Governor citing “As Michigan’s next governor, Mike will work to stop the flow of illegal immigrants in our country and secure Michigan’s borders. Mike Bouchard is a strong leader and a straight shooter.”
